The standard adjustable pallet racking system: horizontal beams bolted into vertical uprights, forming bays sized to standard pallets. Every pallet position is directly accessible from the aisle. Best for standard palletized inventory and operations that pick individual SKUs frequently. Trade-off: uses more floor space per pallet than high-density systems, since every position needs direct aisle access.
No front columns — just arms extending out from a vertical tower, supported from behind. Built for long, awkward, or irregularly shaped loads that don't sit on a standard pallet: pipe, lumber, steel bar stock, extrusions, furniture panels. Trade-off: it's a specialty system — using it for a mostly-palletized warehouse is over-engineered and more expensive per position than selective.
